Veketa Smith is not just a faculty member; she’s a force of inspiration, a dedicated mother of two, and a true advocate for inclusion. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, she has left an indelible mark on the Physician Assistant (PA) program.

Kathleen (Kat) is known as an empathetic, inclusive and inspiring leader in technology. She brings a unique mix of skills in impactful communication and storytelling, process improvement and data-driven business practices to optimize your Customer Success strategy and organizational design.

Kat has led high-performing Customer Success Teams with companies such as Coursera, Certinia (formerly FinancialForce), Microsoft and now is an Independent Customer Success Consultant specializing in advising companies valued at $100M+ by introducing technology, strategy and solutions to scale their Customer Success teams and business.

Katie Lushington, MS, PMP

Katie has 20 years of experience as a leveraged engineer to drive complex construction and process improvement within companies like Microsoft, Mars, and Michelin. She has been instrumental in driving Lean business process improvements in matrix organizations, removing roadblocks, developing and deploying new methodologies, and more importantly, a catalyst for change. She brings unique and critical skills to our programs, real estate portfolio, and our core mission.

Kelli has over 14 years of experience in public accounting, specialized in working with government contractors and providing financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP to include business combinations, revenue recognition, stock compensation, leases and consolidations. She advises CEOs and CFOs of businesses that have customer contracts directly or indirectly with the federal government.
